Upgraded PV-storage integration, a step further towards net-zero buildings With the Net-Zero by 2050 roadmap identifying buildings as a key factor in reducing carbon emissions, AUO has integrated PV and storage systems to provide net-zero building solutions for different purposes, such as residential, industrial and commercial. As part of its efforts to improve Building-integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) offerings, AUO has launched the fourth-generation SunSteel, the building-integrated PV metal roof. The solution boosts an increase of 15% in power generation efficiency, supports quick installation and lightweight, with its safety, leakage prevention, and weather resistance performance having been certified by IEC and VPC. This indicates great advances in residential building design, construction convenience, visual appeal and many other aspects.
Upgraded data visualization, for more robust energy management The combination of superior building materials with software technology is expected to bring out the best synergy. Smart Power Panel is a key device developed by AUO for the intelligent application of electrical appliances. As the hub for energy management and power control, it visualizes energy data and integrates energy storage system, solar system, and EV charging system, so that users can remotely manage energy usage to save energy and cost, and also keep the power system stable.
Energy planning, particularly with regard to electricity use and energy conservation management, is vital for businesses to comply with carbon reduction policies and maintain sustainable operations. AUO has therefore developed PowerVeillance, an intelligent surveillance and management system. Following a simple installation, the system can collect power consumption data through a single device and show it in real time. It supports the setting of electricity consumption and energy-saving goals and quickly exports detailed electricity use reports. Besides energy-saving visualization, the solution also offers enterprises extensive analysis of power usage, which may be helpful to optimizing energy efficiency, and thus facilitate the optimization of energy management strategies. And when paired with a solar monitoring system, PowerVeillance can improve the efficiency of energy saving and power generation and continually optimize energy efficiency, assisting businesses to reach their energy-saving goals in line with the carbon reduction trend.
Upgraded energy security, through more reliable system detection and fault prevention With the increasing popularity of net-zero buildings in people’s lives, the security of power systems becomes critical. AUO's new offering SunGarde is designed to detect and prevent arc faults, a major cause of fires in solar systems. The solution has passed the UL1699B (Type1) certification test. It detects arcs with accuracy in less than 2.5 seconds and quickly shuts down faulty strings to prevent the occurrence of series arcs and the reverse current of parallel strings. Its another function is to significantly reduce the energy of parallel arcs. When a fault arises, SunGarde can work with SunVeillance – an intelligent cloud-based solar monitoring system – to generate visual analysis, making it easier to find faulty strings and decrease losses in power generation.
With both software and hardware of energy solutions being upgraded, stable energy efficiency and carbon management are expected to maximize synergy.
